The main orientation sector I want to continue is either in the music or creative industry. Therefore I want to gain more knowledge of to put written documents into execution.
I would like to gain more of an insight working on festival projects, with focus on the backstage area. Also how groups market a festival and how to get them to stand out compared to others, therefore my dream placement would be part of a creative festival organization, such as for example; “Tomorrowland”. Another dream internship would be, to be part of the “Victoria Secret” Show Organization, of course this is very different but it would give me the possibility to see how these reputable companies plan, organize and pull a show together. The tasks I would like to perform, would be preferably within the marketing and promotion area, or to be part of the team who deal and communicate with the artists and or other external persons who are involved or needed for a particular event to happen.
During my placement I would like to achieve a broader knowledge of the event sector, on how they get people together to create a memorable event, how they prepare and basically witness an entire event from its beginnings to it taking place as well as closing it off. Furthermore, we are currently learning how to write project plans and my interest of these plans is how they are actually executed. I am interested in how they bring a written plan into action. Therefore, I would like to know how they proceed after developing a document with detailed planning.
Another aspect I would like to learn is how companies manage the brainstorm sessions, how they sort through the creative ideas, steps they take to either discarding or using an idea. My curiosity is very high on this topic and therefore, I would like to have the possibility to find out all these things.
Possible requirement of a placement can be many things, but I think it is most important if you show that you know about project management, and show that you a reliable person. Even better is to show that you can bring in something to the company, maybe something they do not know yet and may learn from you.
